Cherokee Street is in the outskirts of St. Louis with a black, Latino, and white population. This short film by the artist Maria Pecchioli follows the ancient Chinese I-Ching, Book of Changes to build a portrait of this community and some of the people who live here.

Creating the Italian subtitles for this video was certainly no easy task: some parts are sung, others have English captions. And, even more challenging, the people in the film are not actors and many have strong local accents. I drew on the help of a colleague who is a native speaker of American English to ask for her take on some of the more complicated parts.

If you use my subtitle translation services, I might suggest involving colleagues for the best possible results. Needless to say, only with your consent: confidentiality comes first!
