I have worked as a translator for published works since 2013 and have been fortunate to have translated great South American writers like Sergio Pitol, Rodolfo Walsh, and Mario Benedetti.
I translated from Spanish into Italian Mario Benedetti’s debut novel, Chi di noi (original title: Quién de nosotros), published in 2016 by Nottetempo and his collection of essays Il diritto all’allegria (original title: Vivir adrede), considered something of his final manifesto, which Nottetempo published in 2017.
Translating fiction and non-fiction into Italian demands that we have enormous respect for the source text and take meticulous care in rendering it in Italian. This is equally true for novels as it is for non-fiction. Learn more about this fascinating world on my page about translating fiction and non-fiction.
